cv7713 asked: Rec’d a discharge last year and I just got a letter from a towing company in an old repossession who is trying to collect on a charge. I did not know the charge existed and therefore did not include them in the bankruptcy. Do I have to pay them? I called the attorney who said our relationship ended with the discharge and he would have to charge for more assistance! Gee, thanks.
Any help is appreciated.

There is a building for sale, would fit our needs perfectly but the company is in bankruptcy. Would that mean that there is a hold on the property and they HAVE to sell it?

Matthew asked: I have been talking to a few attorney’s and they tell me that you can surrender property in either a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy.
If you “surrender” the property, does it still count as a foreclosure against you? Does the bankruptcy protection, from either a Chapter 7 or 13, protect you from possible lawsuits etc?
I know many people view Chapter 7 as liquidation, but I have been told by many attorney’s you can also surrender in a 13 but people just opt not to.

Kim K asked: My bankruptcy was discharged in 2004 and I have not applied for a credit card until very recently (Secured Master Card with Capitol One).
I am planning to buy a house in the near future, what are some good ways to build some serious credit fast!
I also have $5000 available to invest into savings, GIC’s etc.

My wife and I are divorcing and it looks as though I will clearly have to declare bankruptcy after the divorce. Are the assets awarded to her in the divorce eligible for the court to seize to pay my debts even though they are now hers awarded by a court? I live in Michigan.

I did some cabling jobs for this company, I received a letter from their attorney saying that I have to pay back like $16,000 to this company. IS THAT LEGAL? The company filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy. What can I do.

I filed back in 2005, but my credit score is still pretty good. I’m near 700 right now, but my bankruptcy is not quite 5 years old yet. I know it can be visible for up to 10 years, but when is the point where it’s not a big deal anymore? Thanks.

I’m in Utah and am going to be filing for chapter 7 bankruptcy soon. Obviously, I’m filing for a reason and I don’t have much money for a lawyer. So, I’m just wondering about how much I’d be spending for a lawyer to take care of it, or if I should just learn & do it without one. Thanks for the help!
