How long does it take for a bankruptcy claim to go through?

After filing for bankruptcy, how long does it take to go through. Like is it weeks or months for the claim to go through?

    My friend told me his was typical and his took 3-6 months, I’ve heard 6 months thrown around a lot. You have to go to some counseling meeting and a 341 meeting with creditors and the trustee where they ask you basic questions. Then sometimes only a month after that, but usually from start (paperwork) to finish, it’s about 6 months they say. Good luck.
