I was wondering how soon I could apply for a home equity loan and get approved. My Ch. 7 Bankruptcy got discharged in June 2009 so it has been a year. I’m just wondering because I’m sure the laws keep changing. I was told the day after it gets discharged and then I was told two years after discharge. So, someone who actually knows please help?

Ok I don’t understand much about this at all, but I’m really curious.

If someone can’t pay their mortgage for whatever reason and their house is going for foreclosure and they file for bankruptcy, how long after it is DISCHARGED with the courts, do they have to move out of the house? approx? As in how long much longer can they stay before they have to move out?

I had a bankruptcy discharge of debt in Nov. 1998 in New York. I was told a the time it would drop off my credit report in 7 years, but it is still on there. I know I have to write to the companies, do I have to write to all 3? What info do I have to provide them with? Thanks!

Our lease is up in 3 weeks and we were late on 1 payment, sp we lost our pre approval for another lease. The dealer tried everything to get us set up, but we need to wait until the bankruptcy is dicharged before we can do anything, so we do not add it to the file, it makes sense.
