I am not making the payments now and tried to buy the car from them, but they want 6 thousand more than its worth. How long will it take them to repo the car without making payments?

I filed for bankruptcy (chapter 13) to keep my home. I have a car that was not included in the bankruptcy that I would like to sell and buy a new one. Do I need to have authorization from the court or the trustee for this transaction?
I am not abusing the system. The reason I want to get buy I new car is because the one I have is a truck and I am spending too much in gas…I want to get an economic car.
