My wife and I are divorcing and it looks as though I will clearly have to declare bankruptcy after the divorce. Are the assets awarded to her in the divorce eligible for the court to seize to pay my debts even though they are now hers awarded by a court? I live in Michigan.

Trying to figure out if filing for bankruptcy is my best option. I make lower than the state average in the state I live and following a divorce I am drowning in debt. I tried consolidation, but I’m still not having enough leftover at the end of the month to do any good for me and my daughter.
